If there’s one thing I’ve learned from over a decade of trial and error, it’s that beautiful skin and consistency go hand-in-hand. Truly healthy skin isn’t just about applying products, but healing the body from the inside out with persistent, holistic practices. Here are my top tips for anyone looking to restore their skin naturally!
Manuka Face Mask
It’s said that Cleopatra’s biggest beauty secret was bathing in honey. This is no surprise since honey is loaded with amazing skin benefits! Manuka honey by itself makes for a great all-natural face mask that moisturizes and withdraws impurities from the skin. I suggest applying Comvita UMF™ Manuka Honey as a face mask to clean skin 1-3 times a week for 20-30 minutes. Comvita’s premium UMF™ grades 10+, 15+ or 20+ are best for targeted skincare use. You can use it as a single-ingredient mask, or try one of my go-to DIY all-natural, face masks here.
Adding to the list of mother nature’s skin healing ingredients is ice. Ice is a unique element prized for its ability to reduce inflammation. When applied to the skin, ice acts as a cooling agent that helps depuff and soothe. So, get yourself an ice roller, or even use a cube from the freezer, and use it in the AM and PM post-cleanse, then follow with your normal skincare routine.
It might surprise you to know that over half your skin is made up of water! It’s no wonder that proper hydration levels are linked to healthy skin. When we don’t consume enough water, our skin can become dry, dull, and prone to wrinkles. Experts suggest drinking half of your body weight in ounces a day. If you’re anything like me, this can be a challenge! Add 1 teaspoon of Comvita UMF™ Manuka Honey and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to your water for a delicious tonic that makes staying hydrated easy!
Getting enough “beauty sleep” isn’t just an old wives’ tale. There is clear evidence that adults should get 7-9 hours of sleep per night. When we don’t get the proper amount of sleep, many essential functions are disrupted – leaving us with visible dehydration of the skin, under-eye bags, and an overall decline in youthfulness. To get your best night’s sleep, reduce your screen time 1 hour before bed and instead crack open a good book to help ready your mind for sleep.
