Nutritionist-Approved Healthy Snack: Apple ‘Nachos’ with Manuka Honey

When you get home with your harvest, we’ve got a delicious, quick and easy, anytime health snack recipe for you from leading Sports & Clinical Nutritionist, Cara Clark.

As a former collegiate athlete, and nutritionist to Olympic athletes, NBA and MLB stars, all of Cara’s recipes are designed to support optimal health for elite performance. She upgraded her go-to Apple Nachos recipe with Comvita Manuka Honey, an all natural sweetener commonly used for daily immune support, aiding digestive and gut health, antioxidant protection, and a natural pre-workout energy boost. Apple Nachos with Manuka Honey

“Originally, my apple nachos didn't include Manuka Honey and they were good, but they could be better. I wanted to up the nutrient factor of the delicious snack and Comvita came through for me. This is a snack you don't have to cook and can be prepared in 60 seconds, flat! Just don’t hurt yourself with the knife :) With the addition of Comvita Manuka honey, we not only have the perfect amount of sweetness, we have added antioxidants to increase overall health. All it takes is one little drizzle! In times like this, I can't think of anything more important than improving your immune system. Manuka for the win!”


  • 1 apple, thin sliced (best if they’re ripe & crunchy)
  • ¼ cup granola (homemade if you’re so inspired)
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon of Comvita UMF™ Manuka honey (or add more to your liking)


1. Thinly slice the apples.
2. Place the apple slices on a plate and top with granola.
3. Drizzle almond butter and Manuka Honey on top.
4. Enjoy!
