Honeybees are clever.
They make bee propolis by collecting resin from trees and combine it with beeswax and enzymes to seal and protect the hive. This barrier provides powerful protection, warding off any incoming bacteria, viruses, fungi and other illness from entering the hive.
Honeybees even lay down a mat made of bee propolis to walk over and cleanse themselves as they enter the hive.
Bee propolis protects our body in the same way it protects the hive. Because bee propolis originates from a plant’s immune system, it is extremely potent and contains over 300 natural bioactive compounds, flavonoids and phenolics (potent antioxidants) that work at the cellular level to fight free radicals and support the body’s immune system, naturally.
There are now many scientific studies that prove the immune power of the beehive and what people have known for centuries – that natural bee propolis works when it comes to immune function support¹ and antibacterial support.
In fact, over the past two decades, there has been a ten-fold increase in bee propolis research papers with over 4000 scientific papers now published.
Introducing our new Comvita Immune Beeᵀᴹ Propolis 1-a-day range. With twice the actives, now you can get your daily dose of bee propolis immune support in ONE plant based capsule.
PLUS Our new Immune Beeᵀᴹ jars are made from 100% recycled plastic which means they can be recycled over and over again - contributing to a more circular economy and waste reduction.
NOT ALL BEE PROPOLIS IS CREATED EQUAL
Our unique Propolis Flavonoid Level (PFL™) measure
What makes us different from others, is our measure of flavonoids (it is the flavonoids that matter when buying bee propolis as these bioactive compounds are what support the immune system – not the amount of propolis or fresh equivalent of propolis consumed). In conjunction with the Cawthorn Institute (a leading New Zealand Government Research Crown Institute), Comvita has developed a unique advanced analytical technology that measures the concentration of pure flavonoids per serve of bee propolis. We call this measure PFL™ which stands for Propolis Flavonoid Level. Through our PFL™ technology, we guarantee you receive the exact amount of flavonoids per serve, depending on your needs. For everyday immune support, we recommend choosing Immune Bee™ PFL™ 30 – a high strength, 1-a-day, daily dose of immune support in a plant-based capsule containing 30 flavonoids per serve. Backed by science, this is the perfect protection for everyday immune support to be life ready.
We know that bee propolis originates from plants and that it contains over 300 bioactive compounds, flavonoids and phenolics that can help fight free radicals and support your immune system, naturally.
But just how rich in antioxidants is bee propolis?
In our recently completed ORAC¹ study, which measures the antioxidant potential of foods, Comvita Immune Bee™ Propolis packs a significant punch coming out on top of other well known antioxidant superfoods such as blueberries, green tea and elderberry even!
Unlike synthetic immunity supplements made in factories, our Comvita Immune Bee™ Propolis is made in nature, by honeybees, in beehives. We source raw bee propolis, gently wash away the beeswax, debris and other impurities leaving behind pure, propolis concentrated extract. This concentrate is then lovingly bottled into formats for your convenience.
We source our raw propolis from Comvita beekeepers and trusted beekeeping partners. Because bees can collect bee propolis from up to 5 kilometres in any direction from their hive, we triple test all of our raw bee propolis for pesticides, residues, heavy metals and other chemicals to ensure every batch meets our stringent quality criteria.
We do not add artificial flavours, colours or preservatives to our bee propolis products so that you receive only the purest and most potent flavonoids in every daily dose!
The name “Propolis” is derived from the Ancient Greek words “προ” (pro) which means “in defence of,” and “πόλις” (polis), meaning “city,” the overall meaning being “in defence of the city”.
Bee propolis, often referred to as “bee glue”, is a centuries-old natural medicine with usage tracing back to Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans who used it for treating wounds, skin and mouth infections.
Founded in 1974 by beekeepers Claude Stratford and Alan Bougen, Comvita’s purpose has always endured - to work in harmony with bees and nature in New Zealand to heal and protect the world.
With a deep respect for nature, and a belief that food is the best medicine, Comvita is committed to projects that support social and environmental impact globally as we strive to leave the world in a better place including:
• Dedicated Bee Rescue and Bee Welfare programs that, every year, save over 10 million bees around the world
• Every year we donate 1% of our profits to charities and partners
•We plant a native tree for every jar of our mānuka honey sold, with over 6 million trees already planted
•We are committed to leading the way in creating a circular and carbon neutral honey business
We believe in and stand for a world where bees, nature and people can thrive in harmony.
A better world for future generations.
