SUSTAINABILITY
OUR HARMONY PLAN
Our Harmony Plan is our sustainability framework – it is an expression of who we are. It is built on our beliefs and communicates our call to action on how we plan to leave the world in a better place.
At the heart of Comvita is a profound respect for our natural environment. It’s always been this way, since 1974, before climate change had even entered the world’s vocabulary.
Our Harmony Plan drives several key sustainability initiatives that reflect our ambition to leave the world in a better place. As climate action leaders we will become carbon neutral by 2025, we stand as kaitiaki (guardians) for bees – aspiring to save 100 million bees per year, we aim to restore balance to ecosystems through native tree planting programs and leave positive impact in human populations around the world through employment opportunities and community outreach programs.
We believe in, and stand for the unimaginable - a world where bees and people thrive in harmony”
- David Banfield, Comvita CEO
The Harmony Plan is like an ecosystem, working together to make a healthier, stronger whole. Each segment drives meaningful actions with measurable outcomes and far-reaching positive impacts. The outer ring of the plan focuses our four key impact areas – underpinned by aspirational targets that create a swarm of movement. At the heart of it all, we are guided by our purpose to work in harmony with bees and nature to heal and protect the world.
Healing, protecting and restoring natural ecosystems. We’re improving biodiversity by aiming to plant a native tree for every pot of Mānuka Honey sold and supporting various wildlife conservation and biodiversity initiatives.
